Wrap up for Presidential Primary Elections

First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you who came out to vote in Tuesday’s election, as well as our wonderful staff that works hard to get everything up and running and then torn down at the end of the night or the next day. We appreciate you all!

Second, I know we had to turn a few of you away, and I know how frustrating it was for some of you. We did our best to try to get the word out there that it was strictly just three parties that could vote in this one where this election is the only one that is party-specific.

I’m aware that there was some confusion for some of you regarding being a “green independent” versus “unenrolled”. Independent used to be just that, but there have been changes to parties throughout the years so now in order to be enrolled with no party choice, you have to choose “unenrolled” versus “independent”.

I feel like we informed a lot of our residents and cleared up that confusion for everyone who came in, but I wanted to get that out there for future reference as well just in case you didn’t come out to vote, but are enrolled as that party and wanted to change it.

If anyone has any questions about party enrollment, please don’t hesitate to call me, I’m more than happy to clarify or answer those questions and any other questions you may have.
